Reminder of DATIA Member Benefit – Searchable Internet Directory

In response to member inquiries, DATIA would like to take this opportunity to point out an important DATIA member benefit – the Searchable Internet Industry Directory, which has been utilized by employers and industry professionals since 1999. Over 1,100 member companies and 4,100 certified collectors (CPC, CPCT, & R-CPCT) are accessible within the directory. DATIA’s extensive marketing of the directory has resulted in its regular use by employers, industry professionals, and governmental agencies, as well as numerous “cross links” to the directory by organizations and governmental agencies. In fact, over 9,000 searches of the directory are performed each month.
Features of the directory include the ability to determine if a company’s collection personnel are certified by DATIA and whether or not the company is accredited by DATIA. In addition to listing each facility’s certified personnel, the directory includes information on services that the company provides, directions and a map to the facility, and links to the company’s web site and email address.
With over 9,000 searches performed each month, this member benefit has proven beneficial to DATIA members time and time again. Question & Answer: Excerpts from the DATIA Forum

Question: I recently received a letter informing me that I need to renew my certification. How many test dates are available before the June 1, 2003 expiration date?
Answer: The exams are only given on Thursdays. Due to the Annual Conference being held in Nashville, TN on May 29-31, 2003, exams will not be administered on May 29, 2003. As a result, May 22, 2003 is the last Thursday to take the exam before the June 1, 2003 expiration date.
