Alexandria, VA - DATIA is pleased to announce the addition of a new session to its Annual Conference that anyone involved in drug and alcohol testing won’t want to miss. We’ve all read about the issues concerning data security in the news recently – an issue core to the operation of any business dealing with sensitive information such as drug and alcohol testing results. Due to the importance of this issue, ChoicePoint will speak on the challenges around balancing privacy with access and affordability, and the latest developments in employee screening during DATIA’s Annual Conference, being held May 12-14, 2005, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida.

On Friday, May 13th, at 3:30 PM, Tim Dowd, vice president of marketing at ChoicePoint, will walk attendees through his recent experience around developments in background screening in a changing society. The industry is rapidly changing and many companies are confused about how to handle the challenges they face in making important hiring decisions. ChoicePoint will take attendees through the current challenges around drug and alcohol testing and background screening, and share first hand their experiences as they lead the way in handling privacy and identity theft issues in the industry. Attendees will leave the session with an understanding of this rapidly changing industry and knowledge about the latest developments in drug and alcohol testing and background check solutions.

Additional sessions will discuss the state of drug use within the U.S. over the last few years and a forecast of future trends, how to manage and prove return on investment of drug and alcohol testing programs using the Six Sigma approach, how to sift through the massive disparities of research concerning drug and alcohol testing technology research, and the "who-what-when-where-and whys" of drug free policy development.

The conference will also boast the largest exhibition hall to date for companies servicing drug and alcohol testing professionals with 56 exhibitors from as far away as Germany represented in the Exposition Hall. There is nowhere else that you can compare and contrast so many providers to find the perfect solution to your needs.

Clearly, the DATIA 2005 Annual Conference and Exposition is a place that anyone involved in the drug and alcohol-testing industry wants to be. In a letter to DATIA attendees, Florida Governor Jeb Bush states, “I understand your association is celebrating your 10th anniversary. I commend your efforts to reduce substance abuse and illegal activity throughout the United States. Our state is proud to host this meeting.”

DATIA is a 1,300-member national trade association representing the full spectrum of drug and alcohol testing service agents including laboratories, collection sites, C/TPAs, BATs, MROs, SAPs, employers, and testing device manufacturers.
