DOL's Drug-Free Work Week 2008
Drug-Free Work Week will officially kick-off in 2008 on October 20th.  From October 20-26, this annual week will highlight the benefits drug-free workplace programs provide to employers, workers and communities.  Each Drug-Free Work Week promotes how drug-free workplaces:  prevent accidents and make workplaces safer, improve productivity and reduce costs and encourage people to seek help for alcohol and drug problems.  Find out more information here.

Summary:  DOT will speak at DATIA's Annual Conference.  DATIA has limited office hours next week as staff will be on-site at the Annual Conference.  Question of the Week:  A clarification on last week's state CDL driver regulations question.

DATIA eNews - April 17 - 24, 2008
Summary:  Conference pre-registration ends next Thursday, April 24.  DATIA is going green, flash drives will be given to each 2008 Conference Attendee in lieu of a printed Conference Brochure, a limited number of books will be printed for purchase.  New study shows growing number of public schools are implementing random drug testing.  Question of the Week:  Would a state CDL driver need to follow the same regulations as a federal CDL driver?
