The U.S. Dept. of Transportation's Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy Compliance (ODAPC) proposes to revise the Management Information System (MIS) forms currently used within six U.S. DOT operating administrations for the submission of annual drug and alcohol program data.

DOT proposes to streamline the annual reporting of drug and alcohol program data to operating administrations through use of a one-page MIS data collection form. The Department is seeking to standardize across the operating administrations the information collected and to reduce the amount of data reported by transportation employers. If an operating administration intends to require additional data, the administration will address those issues separately.

DOT is accepting public comments on the proposed rule until November 14, 2002. Click here to view a full-text version of the proposed rule.
