On January 22, 2004, Executive Director Laura Shelton was a guest on the Stacy Taylor show, which airs on Newsradio 600 KOGO - the top-rated radio station in San Diego County. The topic of discussion was the constitutionality of student drug testing. Obviously Ms. Shelton debated in support of student drug testing, while Mr. Taylor was in strong opposition. Nonetheless, callers to the show were in favor of student drug testing 2:1. DATIA members who were able to hear the show were complimentary of the arguments made by DATIA. DATIA enjoyed the radio interview and looks forward to the opportunity to provide arguments in favor of drug and alcohol testing in other forums.
